Adult Classes


adult classes GAAA offers diverse and exciting classes for all skill levels. Our instructors have impressive credentials and extensive teaching experience in the United State and abroad. We have a generous scholarship program for persons who qualify; please inquire.

LOCATION:

Classes are at Thoreson Farm unless indicated otherwise. It is a magical place within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, just outside Glen Arbor. Lovely vistas and quiet pastoral surroundings complement the class experience and contribute to your creative inspiration.


WHAT TO BRING:

A supply list will be e-mailed with your registration confirmation. Wear appropriate clothing for working with art materials, and to accommodate the weather when working outdoors.


REFUND POLICY:

Glen Arbor Art Association will retain a $10 processing fee on all registrations. When the course is held as scheduled, the refund policy is as follows:
  • Full tuition refund (less $10 processing fee) up to two weeks prior to the class meeting
  • 50% tuition refund (less $10 processing fee) during the two weeks prior to the class meeting
SORRY, NO TUITION REFUNDS THEREAFTER


TRANSFERS AND CLASS CANCELLATIONS:

If a class does not meet minimum enrollment, it will be cancelled. Tuition fee may be applied to another class or fully refunded.


MEALS:

Most adult classes are held at sites outside of Glen Arbor. Restaurants are a distance. Bring a lunch for full-day classes.


PHOTOS:

GAAA reserves the right to use photos of classes or events for publicity purposes. Please contact the office if you have any concerns.


SCHOLARSHIP:

Tuition assistance is available through the Ben & Ananda Bricker Scholarship Fund. Please inquire.

EXPERIENCE LEVELS FOR ADULT CLASSES

Adult classes are open to students 16+


Beginner: no prior or limited experience in a particular medium, and would like to have a basic knowledge of techniques and materials.
Intermediate: comfortable with techniques and tools of a particular medium, with knowledge of basic elements of design, composition, value and color. Can work independently.
Advanced: experienced, confident, and competent working in the medium. Able to work independently, and seeks creative challenge and artistic growth.
Open to All Levels: no specific or prior experience is required. Students at all skill levels are welcomed and can enjoy this workshop.
